Truck Driver Killed In Rollover Crash On I-95 In Old Lyme

Police said the crash happened Friday afternoon when the 63-year-old driver struck the back of another truck on southbound I-95.

OLD LYME, CT — A Westbrook truck driver died Friday in a rollover crash on Interstate 95 near Old Lyme, according to Connecticut State Police.

Authorities said the crash happened shortly before 1:40 p.m. near exit 71. According to police, 63-year-old Michael Finkeldey was driving a tractor-trailer southbound on I-95 when he struck the rear of another tractor-trailer in front of him.

According to police, Finkeldey's truck crossed into the right shoulder where it struck a guardrail and rolled onto its passenger side.

Finkeldey was thrown from the truck, police said. He died at the scene, according to authorities.

No other injuries were reported.
