Waterford Native Kyle Caulkins Premieres Tonight on Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championship

WATERFORD, CT — Southeastern Connecticut will have one of its own to cheer for tonight as Waterford native Kyle Caulkins makes his debut on Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championship.
The season premieres tonight, Monday, September 14, at 9 p.m. on Food Network.
Caulkins, 22, grew up in Waterford and is a graduate of St. Bernard School in Montville. His longtime passion for baking and pastry has grown into a professional culinary career and now an opportunity to showcase his talent on the national stage.

Caulkins works as a Pastry Chef at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. He also teaches hands-on baking classes in Charleston, sharing his knowledge and love of pastry with others.
In addition to his professional and teaching roles, Caulkins has launched his own baking business, hosting local pop-ups that feature his creative pastry creations.

His appearance on Halloween Baking Championship marks an exciting milestone in a journey that began right here in southeastern Connecticut.
“We are incredibly proud to see Kyle represent his hometown and southeastern Connecticut on Food Network,” said his parents, Heather and Craig Caulkins, longtime local residents and owners of Caulkins Homes. “As a family that has lived, worked and built our business in this community for many years, it is especially meaningful to see Kyle carry his southeastern Connecticut roots with him onto the national stage. From growing up in Waterford, to graduating from St. Bernard School and later Johnson & Wales University, building a professional career in pastry, and now competing on the national stage, it has been incredible to watch his passion, creativity, focus and hard work lead him to this opportunity at such a young age.”
The Food Network competition brings together talented bakers from across the country to create imaginative Halloween-themed desserts while competing in a series of culinary challenges.
