Tai Chi for Self-Defense and Health Defense: A Workshop for Women

Sat., November 22, 2014 2:00-5:00 pm

Essex Wellness Center Group Space, 8 Novelty Lane, Essex Village

The main tenet of Tai Chi for self-defense is that “four ounces can deflect a thousand pounds.” The accomplishment of safety for oneself and others should not require great strength. Tai Chi Chuan is a soft-style martial art system designed to utilize the least amount of force in order to overcome a larger and more powerful opponent. This workshop is for women who want to know how to keep themselves safe. Learn simple techniques, strategies and easily applied movements that can be utilized by anyone for self-protection. This will be a fun workshop and does not require previous Tai Chi experience. Open to ages 12 and up. Space is limited Registration: $50 ($45 for early bird registration by 11/1). Call 860.767.7770.

In addition to being a Master Teacher of Tai Chi, David Chandler is a professional actor and fight choreographer. Based on his performance, David was honored with a personal invitation to Beijing to study with Grandmaster Sun.
