2 Killed As Dump Truck, SUV Collide On I-84 In Tolland: State Police
A dump truck was hit by an SUV on I-84 Wednesday night in Tolland, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT β Two people were killed when a compact sport utility vehicle and a dump truck collided on Interstate 84 in Tolland late Wednesday night, state police said.
Paige Cooke, 29, of Manchester, NH, who was driving a Kia Sportage, and a passenger, Kristina Murphy, 28, of Wilmington, MA, were identified in a state police report as those killed in the crash.
The accident took place near Exit 68, state police said.

According to a state police crash report, at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, a heavy-duty Mack CV700 dump truck with a 51-year-old Manchester, CT, man behind the wheel was headed west on I-84 in the right lane. The Sportage was directly behind it, according to a crash report.
The Sportage suddenly rear-ended the dump truck, according to a crash report.

The dump truck driver was transported to Hartford Hospital for evaluation, and both Cooke and Murphy were pronounced dead at the scene, according to a crash report.
