4 Ambulances, Chopper Called To Tolland Crash Scene

TOLLAND, CT — Multiple emergency crews responded to a serious car crash on Crystal Lake Road in Tolland Tuesday morning.

The initial call came in at about 6:30 a.m., fire officials said. The crash took place at the Crystal Lake Road-Eaton Road intersection, officials said.

One person had to be extricated from a vehicle, a police official said.

Four ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene, according to fire officials. Life Star helicopter was called to the scene at 7:30 a.m. and had to meet an ambulance crew at Rockville General Hospital because of "developing weather conditions," fire officials said.

There was no initial word on the extent of injuries.

The scene was clear by 8:30 a.m.
