Accused Driver In Tolland, Mansfield Bank Robberies Makes Bail
The suspected driver in bank robberies last week in Tolland and Mansfield is due back in court next month.

TOLLAND, CT — The suspected driver in bank robberies last week in Tolland and Mansfield is due back in court on April 22 after posting two bonds totaling $200,000, court records show.
The robberies took place last Friday, state police said. At 10:40 a.m., the Berkshire Bank on Merrow Road in Tolland and a short time later at a bank of America branch on Middle Turnpike in Mansfield, state police said.
Alston Phillips, 27, of New Britain, was charged on two warrants — one charging him with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and being an accessory to first-degree robbery and another charging him with with conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery and being an accessory to second-degree robbery, according to an arrest report.

He was in state police custody about seven hours after the incidents after being caught in Manchester, records show. He made bail at his arraignment, records show.
