Alleged Drunken Truck Driver Arrested for Tailgating Trooper in Tolland

TOLLAND, CT, A Massachusetts tractor-trailer driver was charged with drunken driving and tailgating after nearly hitting a state police cruiser from behind on Interstate-84 in Thursday, according to an arrest report.

The incident took place between exits 68 and 67. The truck came right up on the back end of the cruiser as a trooper was attempting to pull another vehicle over from the center lane, according to an arrest report.

As the cruiser and other vehicle were pulling over, Gerald Lux, 62, of 47 Coldsprings Road, Westford, MA, drove to the right-hand lane and tailgated the cruiser again, state police said.

He also made several lane changes after, state police said.

He was flagged down and arrested, state police said.
