TOLLAND, CT — Two 100 mph incidents on Interstate 84 have left two drivers with charges, state police said.
On April 16, just after 8 p.m., a trooper was on patrol on the eastbound side of the highway near Exit 68 and noticed an Infiniti Q50 was observed hitting speed of 100-plus mph while tailgating and "aggressively merging" in and out of traffic, according to an arrest report.
A child was in the vehicle, according to an arrest report.
State police stopped the Infiniti and charged the driver, a 23-year-old Hartford man, with reckless driving, failure to drive in the proper lane, following too closely, risk of injury to a child and second-degree reckless endangerment, an arrest report shows.
The second incident took place on April 13. That day, a trooper positioned on the eastbound side of the highway observed a vehicle traveling at 114 mph according to an arrest report.
The vehicle was pulled over and the driver, a 19-year-old man from East Quogue, NY, was charged with reckless riving, according to an. arrest report.
