TOLLAND, CT — Tolland’s annual budget referendum is set for Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in the Tolland Library Program Room at 21 Tolland Green, Lot C, according to a notice from the Town Clerk’s Office.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Only registered Tolland voters may vote in the referendum.
The Tolland Town Council has proposed a $66.39 million budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year, featuring a tax rate increase from 27.19 to 28.00 mills.
Absentee ballots are available in the Town Clerk’s Office. Absentee ballot applications are also available on the town website at tollandct.gov/town-clerk/pages/voter-registration-absentee-ballots. A sample ballot is also available through the town’s referendum information.
The Town Clerk’s Office said applications as well as ballots may be deposited in the drop boxes. Boxes are being emptied daily. The listed drop box locations are Parking Lot A near the Human Services entrance and Parking Lot C near the Library entrance.
For voters returning absentee ballots, the notice gives several deadlines. Absentee ballots can be returned in person to the Town Clerk’s office by 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 4. They may also be returned by mail or placed in the drop boxes by 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5.
