TOLLAND, CT — Adam’s Adventure at the Cross Farms recreation area on Rhodes Road is temporarily closed for about two days while repairs are made to the playground surface. The playground is expected to reopen on Friday, May 15, according to the closure notice.

The temporary shutdown is intended to address safety and maintenance issues at the site. The work includes filling holes and cracks in the surfacing so the playground can reopen once the repairs are complete.

According to the notice, the closure is intended "To ensure the safety and quality of the playground." The notice states that Adam’s Adventure "will be closed for approximately 2 days to complete important repairs to the surfacing, including filling holes and cracks."

Visitors are being told to stay out of the playground for the full closure period, even if no work is underway at a given moment. Freshly repaired surfaces need time to set properly, and entering the area before that process is complete could damage the work and create safety concerns.

The notice says, "During this time, it is critical that all visitors remain outside the playground." It adds, "Freshly repaired surfaces require time to properly set, and any foot traffic could compromise the repairs and create unsafe conditions."

People heading to the recreation area are also being asked to follow barriers and signs posted around the site. The notice says, "Please respect all posted signage, barriers, and fencing" and "Do not enter the playground area during the closure, even if work is not actively taking place."

For families looking for another option while Adam’s Adventure is closed, the notice suggests another town playground. It says, "Consider visiting our playground at Crandall Park during this time."
