TOLLAND, CT — Residents of one Tolland neighborhood woke up to no power to run the air conditioners after a tree toppled a set of wires.
Tolland fire officials reported the felled tree at about 8:30 a.m.
The tree fell near No. 24 Sugar Hill Road, landed across the road and, on the way, took down secondary wire, fire officials said.
A 10 a.m., Eversource was reporting 324 outages. That represents 5.71 percent of the town's 6,284 customers. It was already 87 degrees.
The road was expected to be closed for some time for repairs, officials said.
