TOLLAND, CT — A pedestrian was killed Sunday after being hit by a car on Route 30 in Tolland, state police said.
The crash took place at 10:38 p.m. on the southbound side of the road, about four-tenths-of-a-mile south of the Willow Creeek Road intersection, state police said. That section of Route 30 is Crystal Lake Road.
According to a crash report, a 2016 black Ford Taurus with a 22-year-old Vernon man driving collided with the 17-year-old pedestrian, who was standing in the road. The teen, identified as Blake Lemire, of Coventry, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a crash report.
The driver remained at the scene, after the collision, according to a crash report. No other injuries were reported. Also in the Taurus were a 20-year-old man from Suffolk, VA and a 21-year-old Vernon man, according to a crash report.
