TOLLAND, CT — The polls are closed, and the votes are being counted in Tolland for several key federal and state positions, including the office of governor, Congress, state representative, and state senate.
There is a ballot question this year:
Shall the Town of Tolland appropriate $6,500,000 for roof improvements and artificial turf field replacement at Tolland High School and authorize the issuance of general obligation bonds and notes in the same amount to finance said appropriation?
An early projected winner for the 8th state House district by both local and state Democrats was Francis Lombard, who was running for the seat against Republican William Gifford. The district includes parts of Tolland, as well as Bolton, Coventry, Columbia and Lebanon. The contest will determine who represents residents in this portion of town in the Connecticut House of Representatives.
State Dems declared a win for Governor and Lieutenant Governor with Ned Lamont and Susan Bysiewicz beating Ryan Fazio and Matt Corey in the Republican side.
They claimed all four U.S. Reps winning, including Democrat Joe Courtney over Republican George Austin.
