Scholastic Book Fairs at Tolland Intermediate School and Birch Grove
Our Fall Scholastic book fairs are coming up at both Birch Grove and TIS, and we'll be hosting a "premiere night" on November 30th at TIS from 5:30 - 6:30pm. In keeping with the theme this year, "All-Star Book Fairs", teachers and staff from both schools will be appearing as our "stars", along with Flash the Hawk, our TIS mascot!
Current and former students (and their families) can visit with our stars while they shop at the fair. We will have titles suitable for all ages - from adult bestsellers and cookbooks, to teen books, to elementary school favorites to preschool picture books. We are expecting the following stars:
Tom Swanson Kara Tyler Mike Moynihan Kathy Adams
Cathy Gramling Lisa Miner Anthea Grotton Linda York
Jim Dineen John Bean Jacqueline Lemelin Annette Roberts
Joanne Bagley Janice Kogut Bethany Hill Tara Arner
Ted McCarthy Rosa Racco Barbara Williams Kristen Deliman
Laurie Coulom
The book fair will be open at TIS to the general public during the premiere and as follows:
Saturday, December 1st - 9:30 to 1:30
Wednesday, December 5 - 4:00 to 6:00
Thursday, December 6 - 1:00 to 5:00
Friday, December 7 - 8:15 to 3:00

The book fair at Birch Grove will be open Wednesday, December 5 and Thursday, December 6 from 8:30 to 6:00 and Friday, December 7 from 9:00 to 4:00. Visitors must sign in at the front office.
Students at TIS will visit the fair during school hours and shop or write wish lists with their class. In addition, we will collect monetary donations via our All for Books program to buy Scholastic books for children affected by Hurricane Sandy in NY and NJ. Donations can be made at the fair or though TIS or Birch Grove students.
Shoppers unable to make the fair during regular hours can purchase books via our Online Book Fair at www.scholastic.com/schoolbookfairs. All orders made through the TIS link will be delivered directly to TIS and can be picked up beginning December 14. If you are buying books as a gift and don't want them delivered to the recipients' classroom, please make note in the Gift Message section and we will contact you directly for pickup.
Wondering what to get your child's teacher for the holidays? Why not buy a book for the classroom? Most teachers select books that they would like to have for their classroom libraries. Just stop by the fair and look for the display. You may take the gift home that day and your child can present it to him/her at any time.
If you have any questions, please contact Tonya Lyon at Lyonnos@comcast.net or Schwarz7@comcast.net
Hope to see you at the fair!
