Connecticut Water Sets Three Water Filling Stations for Private Well Owners

Connecticut Water Company is a public water utility that serves nearly 90,000 customers, or about 300,000 people in 55 communities across Connecticut. All Connecticut Water customers have full water service. The company has set-up three filling stations to benefit private well owners who have lost their power.

Connecticut Water Company recognizes how essential water is to life. During the snow storm and the power outages in its aftermath we have been able to maintain water service to more than 99 percent of our customers. However, we know that many people who have private wells have not had water for drinking, sanitation, bathing, etc. since the power went out.

The company and its employees are committed to serving the community and helping private well owners who don’t have access to clean, safe water. Connecticut Water has established two water filling stations that are located in Ellington and Tolland.

  • Crystal Lake School in Ellington (284 Sandy Beach Road)
  • Tolland Fire Training Building in Tolland at 191 Merrow Road (across from Big Y)
  • RHAM High School in Hebron at 85 Wall Street

The filling stations will be open 24 hours, and will be self-service.

People will need to bring their own containers. We encourage people to use only clean, safe containers for water that will be used for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, etc. Any container is fine if the water is to be used for filling toilets or other purposes where it will not be consumed.
