That was the word from Tolland Town Manager Brian Foley in his latest report to the town council. The center is located at 674 Tolland Stage Road.

It would join several other courts in town.

In November, the town and Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz dedicated new combination tennis and pickleball courts at Crandall Park. A total of $500,000 was allotted from a source called the Small Town Economic Assistance Program, or the state STEAP grants.

Another $332,000 in STEAP funding has been earmarked for exclusive pickleball courts at Heron Cove Park, with construction planned for the spring and summer, Bysiewicz said.
