Arrests Made In Connection With Tolland Street Takeover

TOLLAND, CT — A juvenile has been arrested in connection with the May 21 street takeover incident in Tolland.

State police would only say the juvenile was younger than 18.

The juvenile was taken into custody Tuesday and ordered to juvenile detention, state police said.

The charges include:

  • Second-degree conspiracy to incite a riot
  • Conspiracy to commit first-degree unlawful restraint
  • Conspiracy to commit third-degree criminal mischief

State law dictates that, in a "juvenile matter," information regarding the investigation and arrest are confidential and exempt from disclosure under Connecticut's Freedom of Information Act.

A Statewide Tip Line and website have been established for "Street Takeovers" within Connecticut. Residents can 1-800-CALL-FBI and select the "Connecticut Street Takeovers" option, or visit fbi.gov/cttakeovertips to provide investigators with video and photos and information related to them. All information may be submitted anonymously and will remain confidential, sate police said.

"If you come across a street racing area, stop, turn around and find an alternate route. Do not approach the individuals and call 9-1-1 immediately," state police said.

The Tolland street takeover stretched from Fieldstone Commons up to the town green and involved burnouts and violence that included damaged vehicles belonging to members of the public.
