Award Winners Announced

Annual Juried Multimedia Exhibit at VCAC

Renowned artists Sandra Wakeen and Robert Noreika awarded the Best in Show, Bill and Phyllis Baltaks Memorial Award to Matt Becker for his acrylic painting, Galatea (see accompanying photo). Doug Gillette received the First Place, Bill & Phyllis Baltaks Memorial Award for his silverpoint, Illinois Central. The Second Place, Syntax Award went to Shauna Shane for her pastel, Feathers. Third Place honors went to Karen Israel for her pastel painting, American Beauties.

Honorable Mentions were earned by LeaAnn Cogswell for her stained glass piece, Moonlight and Marilyn Davidson for her fabric collage, Haitian Woman with Mangos. Merit Award winners are Elizabeth Rhoades for Spring Melt, a pastel, Joe Burger for his colored pencil drawing, Who’s the Boss?, Nan Runde for her litho crayon, Quiescile, Jean Dalton for her acrylic painting, Quiet Time and Marcy Vovas for her mixed media, Paper Roses.
