The 'Backbone' Of Tolland Government Retires After 24 Years
A mainstay at Tolland's Hicks Center is retiring after many years of service.

TOLLAND, CT — Municipal staff members at the Hicks Center in Tolland Thursday said fond farewells to a mainstay in the building for nearly a quarter-century.
Thursday was Lynn Bielawiec's last day at the town manager's office. Current chief executive Brian Foley called her, "the backbone of Tolland Town Hall."
She was there for the past 24 years. Bielawiec was known for her pleasant demeanor and thorough approach to doing town business.

"Dedicated to our town, she's been through seven town managers and countless Town Councils," Foley said. "We have big shoes to fill, we all respect and rely on her so much. I wish her much joy, fun and peace in retirement."
