Basement Fire Breaks Out on Tolland-Vernon Line

TOLLAND, CT — Firefighters made quick work of a Saturday night structure fire on Hartford Turnpike on the Tolland-Vernon Line.

Tolland Alert reported that the fire broke out at about 7:30 p.m. in a basement.

The blaze was knocked down on about an hour, according to Tolland Alert.

Crews from the Vernon, Ellington and Crystal Lake departments joined Tolland firefighters at the scene, according to Tolland Alert. Tolland Animal Control was also at the scene, authorities said.
