My last blog was about Festive Stuffed Peppers. I substituted the meat in the "typical" recipe for beans. Many people don't realize the nutritional benefits beans can have in their diet. So...I have two SHORT clips on beans done by Dr. Michael Greger. For anyone that isn't familiar with his work, he is amazing. He can have a dry sense of humor, but his information is of the most recent research studies. He literally reviews thousands of studies and shares only the most scientific legitimate research. If you love to learn about health, you would love his clips!!
Back to beans...the first clip is on the connection between beans and increased lifespan. It also talks about the excusse so many of us use to stay away from beans: beans cause intestinal gas!!!
The second clip is on the nutritional value of canned beans vs. dry. Also, some good information on preparing them.
So, hopefully after watching these two clips you will feel beans should be added to your daily diet!!!
