Bouncing Truck Tire Hits Another Vehicle On Interstate 84 In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — A bouncing tire slammed into a vehicle on a section on Interstate 84 , state police said.

The incident took place on July 15 and state police recently released a report on it.

At 3:05 p.m. that day, a tractor-trailer being driven by a 63-year-old Hartford man was heading east on the highway and lost a tire, according to a crash report.

The wheel began bounding to the rear and hit a 2023 Chevrolet Sierra being driven by a 63-year-old Massachusetts man.

Both he and his 46-year-old passenger were taken to an area hospital for evaluation, state police said.
