TOLLAND, CT — The region's dry conditions scorched an area along Interstate-84 in Tolland over the weekend and high potential fire warnings seemed to be prophetic, officials said.

During the daylight hours Sunday, a brush fire broke out on the eastbound side of the center median on the highway, just past the Mountain Spring Road overpass, fire officials said.

Two TFD trucks were sent to the scene and the fire was under control quickly, fire officials said.
