Bulky Waste Pickups Suspended In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — Bulky waste pickups have been suspended in Tolland, officials said Thursday.

"Effective today, March 19, 2020, until further notice, Willimantic Waste is cancelling all curbside bulky waste/metal collection for the health and safety of their employees, customers and the communities they service," town officials said in the announcement.

The bulky waste announcement comes a day after Tolland officials asked residents to keep trash and recyclables inside the bins.

Town officials said Willimantic Waste is requesting its drivers to stay in their trucks and "not necessarily handle the trash or recyclables."
