C.E.R.T. Training Classes Slated in Tolland
C.E.R.T. training classes have been slated in Tolland.

TOLLAND, CT — Tolland Emergency Management officials have planned a Community Emergency Response Team training series.
All classes will take place at the Tolland Fire Department Training Center, at 191 Merrow Road.
The schedule is:

- Thursdays, 6 to 9 p.m.: Oct. 4, 11, 18, 25 and Nov. 8
- Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon: Oct. 6, 27 and Nov. 3
Those interested or anyone who may have questions about the local C.E.R.T. team can email keuliano@tolland.org. the deadline to participate is Sept. 24.

C.E.R.T. participants learn valuable skills like how to recognize hazards that can affect a home, workplace, and neighborhood; steps to take to prepare for a disaster; identifying and reducing potential fire hazards in the home and what to do when disaster strikes.
C.E.R.T. participants also learn how to assist emergency management and first-responders in meeting the needs of the community during disasters and learn to be part of an "important team serving the community."
Residents and non-residents are welcome to participate and seats will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
