Car Becomes Engulfed In Flames On Highway In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — A car became engulfed in flames on a stretch of Interstate 84 late Sunday morning.

The incident took place on the the highway, just prior to Exit 68, fire officials said. The vehicle was completely covered in fire when responders arrived at the scene, officials said. Four trucks responded.

Most of the westbound side of the highway was closed for several hours. The vehicle was removed from the highway and all lanes were back open by noon, fire officials said.
