Update: School Bus Rear-Ended In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — A school bus collided with two cars in Tolland while on a Tuesday afternoon dismissal route, fire officials said Tuesday.

In a preliminary report released Wednesday, Fire officials said the bus was rear-ended.

The bus was traveling along the 200 block of Merrow Road when the accident took place, fire officials said. It was bringing home students from Tolland Middle School, Superintendent of Schools Walter Willet said in a letter sent to parents.

Both Willet and fire officials said no students or staff members were injured. Three in all were taken to area hospitals from the scene, fire officials said.

The crash did cause delays with the Bus No. 2 routes for both elementary and middle school students.

Merrow Road was down to a single lane f0r a short period of time, fire officials said.
