Chairperson's Report: June 27th Special & Regular Meeting Preview

Good Afternoon neighbors, and Happy Friday! Please see below the chairperson’s report for the June 27th special and regular meetings.

First, the Town Council will convene for an Executive Session concerning the Town Manager’s first annual review.

Following this meeting, the Town Council will reconvene for three new business items. The first of these new items is a consideration of a resolution to transfer $50,000 of savings from the Law Enforcement fund to the Legal fees budget. This transfer is due to legal fees associated with an ethics complaint resulting in a budget shortfall as well a shortfall due to union negotiations and other personnel-related legal services.

The second new item of business is a consideration of a resolution making an 8-24 referral to the Planning & Zoning Commission. Per Connecticut General Statutes (CGS) section 8-24, the town is required to submit any municipal improvement project to the commission for review prior to the town taking final action on the proposed ADA sidewalk project planned for the Tolland Town Green.

Included in the packet are the project plans with proposed materials and CT DOT standard sheets for the proposed walkway, which is intended to provide a municipal ADA pathway along the green for events as well as general access.

The final item is appointments to various municipal boards and commissions. There are currently no positions to be appointed/reappointed, but if you have interest in serving on a board or commission, please check out the list located on pages 16-17 of the meeting packet and email vacancies@tollandct.gov your interest.
