Cleaning Your Home with Everyday Items
You may not realize it, but you don't have to just use cleaning products to keep your home clean and fresh.

You may not realize it, but there are everyday items around your house that you can use to keep your house neat and clean.
For example, you could put some coffee grounds in the refrigerator to eliminate odor. Put the grounds – new or used – in a bowl on the shelf and it will stay fresh smelling.

You could also use ice cubes to clean your garbage disposal. Throw in a handful and turn it on to break up grease and keep it clean. You could also add some lemon, orange, or lime peels to help keep odors away.
Dryer sheets are also good other places than in the dryer. You can get baked-on food off pots and pans by placing the sheet in the pot, filling it with water, and letting it sit overnight. In the morning, use a sponge to just wipe off the food.

Done with your newspaper? Before you throw it out or recycle it, use it to help you clean your garbage can. Cover the bottom of the can with the newspaper to soak up leaks and odors.
Even your microwave can help you keep your home clean. Rinse your sponges with water, squeeze, and place them in the microwave for three minutes. This will help get rid of bacteria on the sponges. You can also do this with cutting boards if they are microwave safe.
Mouthwash not only helps keep your mouth clean, but it can also be used to mop the floors. Add a capful of mouthwash to a gallon of water and you’re free to wash vinyl or tile – but not wood.
Having a sandwich for lunch? Take out an extra piece of white bread and cut the crust off it. Then squish the bread into a ball and gently dab the surface of paintings. Once that slice is covered with dirt and grime, get another one. Use a pastry brush or other soft-bristled brush to wipe off the crumbs. This technique is not recommended for valuable or antique pieces.
These are just a few of the ways you can use everyday items around your house.
