Connecticut State Cops Release Tips To Pinch Porch Pirates
Connecticut state police have released guidelines for holiday deliveries on National Package Protection Day.

TOLLAND, CT — Dec. 4 is National Package Protection Day and state police have offered a few steps to thwart any would-be porch pirates this holiday season.
"Congrats ... Your Cyber Monday shopping is complete, now you just have to wait for packages to arrive," state police said. "You’ll want to keep those packages safe until you arrive home to retrieve them."
State police listed several tips to "ensure that purchases are not picked up by thieves."

Here they are:
- Send packages to your place of business, if possible
- Sign up to receive a notification when your package is delivered, then ... Ask a neighbor to retrieve the package
- Request that the retailer send the package to a mail business
- Track your packages online so that you will know when they will be delivered
- When ordering, require a signature to accept the package
- Consider installing a security camera outside your home or a security system
