CT DOT Announces Work At Several Highway-Railway Grade Crossings In Tolland County
The projects were announced this month.

TOLLAND COUNTY, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Office of Engineering is developing plans to remove and install pavement markings and signs in advance of and at the highway-railway grade crossings in several Tolland County locations.
They include:
- Coventry
- Stafford
- Tolland
- Willington
The project includes extending edge lines, lane lines and center lines across grade crossings to reduce the potential for vehicles turning onto the railroad tracks. It also involves replacement of faded and/or damaged advance railroad crossing signs and markings, and selective trimming to improve visibility of grade crossings.
