CT Trooper Comes To Aid Of Suicidal Veteran Along I-84 ... On 9/11
Emotional body camera footage shows a Connecticut state trooper helping a distressed veteran on Sept. 11.

TOLLAND, CT — Connecticut State Trooper Kyle Kaelberer is known for his ability to snag speeders on Interstate-84, but last week, during one stop, he helped a suicidal veteran get the help he needed — on 9/11.
Kaelberer was on a typical traffic enforcement detail out of his Troop C post on Sunday when he noticed a vehicle come to a stop and have its hazard lights activated. It turned out that a distressed veteran had pulled over to the shoulder at the Exit 68 off-ramp in Tolland to call a suicide prevention hotline.
Body camera footage shows the man emotionally, admitting he was suicidal.

Kaelberer joined the conversation with the counselor already on the phone and then convinced the man to exit the vehicle and talk to him. He even hugged the U.S. Army veteran when asked.
Kaelberer then called in medical care for the veteran.
