Driver Blames Puddle For Highway Crash In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — A driver said he hit a puddle just before crashing on a stretch of highway in Tolland last week, state police said.

According to a state police crash report, at 8:24 p.m. on Nov. 15, a 2015 Infinity Q50 driven by an 18-year-old man from Cheshire was headed westbound on Interstate-84 through Tolland. He told police he could not see after driving thr0hgh a "puddle" of water and ice.

The car went out of control and hit a concrete barrier, according t0 a crash report.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage and the driver was checked at the scene for a shoulder injury, according to a crash report.

The driver was issued a ticket for driving too fast for conditions.
