Driver Crashes, Troopers Find Heroin on Seat, Charge Him With DUI

The crash was near the Tolland Green, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — A Vernon man has been charged with drunken driving for apparently shooting up heroin while behind the wheel of a car, according to a state police report.

The case began with a motor vehicle crash at 1:34 p.m. on Thursday, state police said.

Samuel Stocks, 44, of 13 Spruce St., Vernon, admitted to using heroin and troopers found used bags and needles on the front, passenger seat according to an arrest report.

Stocks was charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility, driving without a license and possessing drug paraphernalia, according to an arrest report.
