TOLLAND, CT β€” A woman driving a high-end sport utility vehicle said she must have "blacked out" before" losing control of the vehicle Friday on Tolland.

The crash took place at 1:16 p.m. Friday.

The 70-year-old from Eastford was heading west on Tolland Stage Road, according to a state police crash report. The episode cause the Linton to drift to the eastbound side of the road and then ram a mailbox when the woman lost control of the SUV, according to a crash report.

A driver's side mirror and and a door were damaged, but the driver escaped injury and she left the scene after refusing medical treatment, not realizing she was required to remain there, state police said. She was cited for evading responsibility and a lane violation.
