Drivers Warned Not to Cut Through New Tolland FD Driveway

TOLLAND, CT — Tolland public safety officials are warning drivers not to use the new fire department driveway after a few motorists nearly clipped fire vehicles while trying to bypass a traffic light.

The driveway is located at the intersection of Rhodes Road and state Route 195.

"This driveway isn't for civilians," but for emergency vehicles heading to calls, public safety officials said.

The warning was issued Friday.

Several cars almost hit fire department vehicles recently because of drivers trying to "beat traffic at the light," officials said.
