Drunken Driver Hits DOT Sign, Hydrant In Tolland: State Police
The river from Maine is now facing several charges.

TOLLAND, CT β A drunken driver in an out-of-state unregistered pickup truck took out a traffic sign and a fire hydrant in Tolland before trying to hide, state police said.
The crash took place on Merrow Road near the Goose Lane intersection at midnight Friday, state police said.
According to a state police crash report, a 2020 Ford F350 being driven by a 25-year-old Rangeley, Maine, man was headed south and ran off the road. The truck first hit a state Department of Transportation sign in the center median and then swerved to the right and ran over a fire hydrant, according to a crash report.

The driver then tried to hide the vehicle at the USDA building on Merrow Road, state police said.
The Maine plates did not show up as valid in a database and the truck was not insured, according to a crash report.

The man was charged with driving under the influence, a lane violation and evading responsibility.
