Election 2016 — Key Facts to Know in Tolland

Nov. 8 is Election Day.

TOLLAND, CT — Here are some key election facts from the Tolland registrars of voters:

  • Nov. 1 is the last day to register to vote in person, by mail, or online (with valid CT driver's license, www.govote.ct.gov). Registrars will be in their office from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • On Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon, the registrars will be hosting a limited registration period for those who have turned 18, moved into Tolland, or have become a citizen of the United States since Nov. 1. Those in the Service have until 5 p.m.
  • Applications for absentee ballots can be obtained online here or in the Tolland town clerk's office. Absentee ballots can be obtained in the town clerk's office in the Hicks Municipal Center.
  • Residents needing to verify if they are registered voters can do so by going to www.SOTS.ct.gov and following the prompts. First and last name and date of birth are required.
  • On Nov. 8 — Election Day — the polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Polling Places: Districts 1 and 3 — Tolland Recreation Center Gym (the former Parker School), 104 Old Post Road. District 2 — Tolland Senior Center, 674 Tolland Stage Road.
  • Verifying a polling place can be done at www.tollandelections.org.
  • Residents can call the registrars with questions: 860-871-3634 or 860-871-3638 or the town clerk at 860-871-3630.
