U2Charist Poverty Relief Event

Join us as the Storrs Community Church worship band performs the music of U2, and includes readings and reflections on the meaning and symbolism of the songs. One of the most successful rock bands of all time, U2 is also famous for the Christian spiritual themes of their lyrics. The band has waived its copyrights for any of its songs to allow for any church that wants to use them as part of a special service, as long as any proceeds collected are given to fighting poverty. Last year's event raised over $2000 for Living Water International to dig a well in a community that had no access to clean drinking water. The evening is thought-provoking about issues of spirituality and social justice, interspersed with rocking renditions of classic U2 songs. For UCONN students, there will be a van pick-up at the Gilbert Road stop by Duck Pond at 6:30 pm, with a return after the event. There will be free childcare provided on the premises.

The event is free and open to the public, and an offering will be collected for Living Water International.
