Eversource Choppers Inspecting Wires In Hartford/Tolland Counties
Eversource helicopters will be taking to the skies to inspect wires.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTIES, CT β Eversource Energy has scheduled aerial inspections of high-voltage electrical equipment in rights of way throughout the state over the next two weeks, including several towns in Hartford and Tolland counties.
The inspection involves the use of a helicopter equipped with LiDAR (light detection and ranging), an aerial high-tech survey of the transmission system. It allows energy company engineers to analyze the transmission lines using up-to-date electronic data, Eversource officials said.
The inspections are slated for Dec. 14 through Dec. 23 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting, officials for the utility said.

The work at utility rights of way in Hartford and Tolland counties includes:
Andover, Berlin, Bloomfield, Canton, Columbia, Coventry, East Granby, East Hartford, East Windsor, Ellington, Enfield, Farmington, Glastonbury, Granby, Hartford, Hebron, Manchester, Mansfield, New Britain, Plainville, Rocky Hill, Simsbury, Somers, South Windsor, Southington, Suffield, Vernon, West Hartford, Wethersfield, Windsor, Windsor Locks.

The aircraft is a blue and yellow helicopter with the tail number β #N803JB.
