Flags 'Cut' From Political Sign In Tolland, Manchester Man Charged

TOLLAND, CT — A Manchester man is accused of damaging a political sign and its accompanying flags on Tuesday, state police said.

According to an arrest report, at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, state troopers went to the Interstate 84 interchange on Merrow Road after receiving a report that someone was "actively damaging" a sing on private property. Troopers noticed that more than a dozen "rainbow-colored" flags had been "torn and cut" from a "Tolland Democrat" sign located on private property adjacent to the I-84 eastbound on ramp.

Troopers were able to identify a suspect based on video provided by a witness, according to an arrest report. He was identified as 34-year-old David David Paquette and located at his Manchester residence, according to an arrest report. Paquette was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 11.
