Friends of Tolland Schools Disbands and Donates Funds To Tolland Education Foundation in Memory of Founding Director
Friends of Tolland Schools makes donation to Tolland Education Foundation in memory of David Golden
Friends of Tolland Schools (FTS), a political action committee, disbanded on Saturday, August 27. The remainder of the organizations funds, totaling nearly $1,000.00, was donated to the Tolland Education Foundation (TEF) in memory of David E. Golden, a founding Director and the current President of TEF. Golden passed away on August 15. According to prior board members of FTS, the organization had fulfilled its mission and had been inactive for the past couple of years. “I can’t think of a better use of these funds than to donate them in David’s memory. Both organizations have similar missions and David was an avid supporter of improved education,” echoed the FTS board members.
The TEF Board of Directors will consider appropriate uses for these funds and others received in Golden’s memory. “David’s enthusiasm and passion for education was an inspiration to us all,” said Linda Byam, TEF Board member.
TEF is committed to providing non-traditional support for innovation in Tolland’s classrooms. Grants and in-kind donations are 100% funded from individual and corporate contributors. You can contribute to Tolland Education Foundation in a variety of ways:
