The Funky Dawgz will bring the Noise to UCC of Tolland
A Mardi Gras Themed Worship Service

By: Kelly Lovett
The United Congregational Church of Tolland will host a Mardi Gras themed service on Sunday, February 7th at 10:00am; filled with foot-stomping, hand-clapping, and a grand time! The Funky Dawgz is a 12 man brass band from Uconn’s Marching Band and Pep Band and will be providing music and entertainment during the service. The Funky Dawgz play a mix of traditional New Orleans R&B, original music, and today’s top hits with a brass twist. They won the SoNo “Breaking the Band Battle”, where first prize consisted of opening for the Village People at the 2013 Norwalk Oyster Festival.
Come get jazzed when the Funky Dawgz perform on Sunday, February 7th. There will only be one service, so make sure you don’t miss out on this special entertainment. All ages are invited to attend. Kids are encouraged to come in “wild thing” animal costumes and adults are encouraged to wear masks. Don’t worry if you don’t come in costume, Mardi Gras beads will be provided. In addition, pancakes will be served in the Fellowship Hall from 8:45-9:45am and again following the service from 11:00-12:00pm for a minimal fee. It will surely be a funky time with dancing in the pews!
