Gentle Ben Needs a Home
The loving and loyal Labrador-mix is waiting for a home at Tolland Animal Control.
Gentle Ben, a Labrador-mix and senior canine citizen currently residing at Tolland Animal Control, is in need of a good home.
According to Animal Control Officer Tina Binheimer, Ben was found on Route 32 in Willington in a painful condition; he was infested with fleas, had patches of raw skin and double ear infections.
Despite being initially unwell, Binheimer says that Ben has a loving personality and positive outlook on life. The 7- or 8-year-old dog is completely recovered and would be happiest in a home without other animals.

Ben is also unfailingly loyal and loves company.
"He hangs out in my office and will lay out on a blanket near the desk while I work," Binheimer said. She added that he appears to be well trained; she said he is house trained, walks well on a leash and knows the "sit," "down," "come" and "shake" commands.
