Everything sold at the Storrs Farmers’ Market is grown and produced in Connecticut, so the offerings change with the seasons.
Want to learn a little bit of history?
This historic farmstead of the Hale family of Coventry, owned and maintained by the Connecticut Landmarks, is open to the public during the warmer months, seven afternoon a week for guided tours, special hands-on programs, and summer classes.
Capt. Nathan Hale, the Martyr Spy of the American Revolution, and his nine brothers and sisters grew up and worked on this farm. The house (1776), outbuildings, and stone walls – as well as what remains of the original 400 acres of farm fields – are important reminders of the way most Americans lived at the time of the nation’s founding.
Ready to go for a hike or do some fishing? Enjoy an afternoon at Mansfield Hollow Lake. When you’re done hiking one of the several trails, fishing or boating, stop and take in the water views during a picnic lunch.
These are just a few of the fun things that are going on in this area. Hope to see you out there!
