Earlier this month, to illustrate the foundation epidemic, U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney (CT-02), a senior member of the House Education and Labor Committee, joined Superintendent of Schools Walter Willett and other school officials toured the school following the announcement that construction to repair the building's crumbling foundation will likely begin in early 2020.
The tour was also planned to illustrate last month's Education and Labor Committee markup of the Rebuild America's Schools Act (H.R. 865), which includes provisions authored by Courtney to provide relief for schools facing structural damage amid the crumbling foundations crisis.
