Kelsey Kaplan got the chance to meet rapper B.o.B. before his concert at UConn last Saturday. But the encounter didn't end there.

Kelsey Kaplan, a local musician and student at Tolland High School, got the chance to meet rapper B.o.B. before his concert at UConn on Saturday, April 9.

Kelsey showed B.o.B. a video of her and Sam Frost of Taking This Oasis singing a cover of his hit song "Airplanes" at last year's Hebron Harvest Fair.

Kelsey also used the opportunity to tell B.o.B. about , her dear friend and bandmate, who died unexpectedly in Nov. 2010.

B.o.B. liked the cover so much he tweeted about it: "Shouts out to my homegirl Kelsey. Keep doing your thang" and included a link to the video.

The video got more than 1,000 hits in one day thanks to his tweet.

But the encounter didn't end there.

B.o.B. told Kelsey to hang close to the stage during his UConn show on Saturday night. Kelsey thought she was just getting a great view of his performance. But during his encore, B.o.B. pulled Kelsey up on stage and asked her to sing the chorus from "Airplanes" for the cheering crowd.
