Summer is finally here and along with those warm sunny days, comes an abundant of colorful fresh fruits and vegetables!!! There is just something magical about picking a vegetable from the garden and sinking your teeth into it.  It makes my taste buds do a happy dance!!

Experiment- Buy a carrot in the store and then pick one from the garden and you won't believe the difference in flavor.  Try this with several different fruits/vegetables and taste the difference.

One of my favorite ways to eat fresh fruits/vegetables is to make wraps.  Wraps can be made SO many different ways.  Here is my favorite because it is quick, easy, and delicious:

Romaine lettuce leaves

Hummus

Avocado

Cucumber-cut into matchsticks (can cut anyway you want though)

Red onion-sliced thin

Herbs-your favorite (I use cilantro, dill, basil)

Take your lettuce leaf and spread the hummus on one side.  Mash up the avocado and spread it on the other side of the leave.  Now, stuff it with the rest of the ingredients.  This is where you can get creative.  Make the ingredients your own favorite things from Mexican to Italian to Indian. Lastly, you can dip the wraps in a peanut sauce, which will add even more flavor.

About the wraps, they also can be many different things.  My kids favorite way to eat these are in spring roll-wraps. They enjoy seeing who can make the tightest wrap without ripping it.  They can be found in almost any grocery store near the Asian section.  They have white rice or brown rice rolls; just follow the instructions on the package.

 Be creative and enjoy!!
