TOLLAND, CT — State police have made a second arrest in a 2017 theft at a Tolland business — on the same suspect.

David Montroy, 35, of Coventry, is due in Rockville Superior Court on July 29 to answer third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny charges related to an office break-in, according to a warrant. He is currently free after posting a $10,000 bond, state police said.

The case dates back to Nov. 29, 2017, when a burglary was reported at Nessteel, 83 Gerbrer Drive, in the Tolland Business Park, according to a warrant. An office window was smashed and a office had been "trashed," staffers told state police.

Montroy worked at the company from Aug. 10 to Oct. 30, 2017, and was identified as a suspect. He was already being investigated in the theft of about $25,000 worth of steel from the business and was charged in May 2018 for the crime, according to a warrant.

During the office break-in, $2,023.19 was taken from a petty cash box and the damage was estimated at about $1,000, according to a warrant.

In the scrap metal caper, Montroy is accused of scrapping thousands of pounds of metal over various trips to scrap yards, according to a warrant. He was charged with four counts of third-degree larceny and two counts of fourth-degree larceny, according to an arrest report.
