Manchester Road Race: Top Male and Female Finishers from Tolland

MANCHESTER, CT — They came from Canada, from Kenya and from Colorado. They came from Honolulu, San Francisco, St. Louis, New York and New Haven. They came from Connecticut's largest city, Bridgeport, and its smallest town, Union. Mainly, they came from all 42 communities that make up Hartford and Tolland counties.

A total of 11,221 registered participants completed the 4.748 mile Manchester Road Race course in the 80th annual Thanksgiving morning tradition. Naturally, most publicity went to the elite runners, including the epic first-place battle between winner Ben True and runnerup Leonard Korir.

Locally, at least one man and one woman from each of the Hartford and Tolland county towns crossed the finish line. Area town leaders ranged from eighth place to 4,926th overall.
